Water Damage at New Prague High School

At approximately 9:00am on October 8, 2008 at New Prague High School, a sprinkler pipe broke in the boy's locker room causing water to flow into the boy's locker room, hallway, wrestling room, and second gymnasium. New Prague High School was evacuated immediately and students were held out of the building for approximately 30 minutes until the situation was determined safe for the students to reenter. Students reentered the building at approximately 9:30am after it was determined that there was no threat to the safety of students. No students were injured during this incident. The New Prague Fire Department along with personnel from within the school district acted immediately to contain the water and attempted to limit the damage that occurred. The impact of the damages will not be determined for a number of days. New Prague High School Administration is investigating the cause of the incident and appropriate actions will be taken. |
