To Ninth Grade Students and their Parents/Guardians
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year. On August 20th, you will begin your high school experiences. I would like to strongly encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities provided at the high school, both academic and co-curricular. The staff at New Prague High School – teachers, support staff, custodians, cooks, and administration – would like to partner with you in making the 2007-2008 school year a successful and exciting year.
ORIENTATION
In order to help you feel comfortable on the first day of school, we are hosting a Ninth Grade Student Orientation on Monday, August 20th. Ninth grade students who chose to be picked up will be transported by school bus to the high school starting at approximately 1:00 p.m. If students need to be picked up by the bus, they must contact the bus garage at 952-758-1480 by August 13th. It is important that you contact the bus garage by the 13th so they can plan the pickup routes. If you do not contact the bus garage, we will assume that you will provide your own transportation.
The agenda is as follows:
Arrive at 1:45 p.m., Meet in Auditorium
Student pictures, lockers, tour school, turn in forms 2:15 - 3:45
Pizza served 3:45 - 4:30
Meet in Auditorium 4:30 – 5:00
Meet in Auditorium with Parents/Guardian 5:00 – 5:30
Parents transport students home 5:30
When students arrive, they should turn in their yellow pupil health registration form and consent/internet form as well as the annual student health history which are included in this mailing.
Ninth grade students and parents/guardians are also invited to the high school open house on Wednesday, August 29th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Forms and pictures can be turned in during the open house if you miss the ninth grade orientation program on August 20th.
The following stations will also be available for your convenience:
1. Lunch accounts – You may pay on your account or turn in free-reduced lunch form.
2. Yearbook – You may purchase next year's (2008) yearbook for $40.00. The 2007 yearbook will be delivered during Homecoming week. (Orders can no longer be taken for the 2007 yearbooks.)
