The November 8, 2005, $1 Million Building Maintenance Bond Issue was approved for the "betterment of school facilities, including constructing and equipping improvements to schools within the School District for the purposes of energy efficiency and maintenance, including but not limited to boiler replacement and installation of energy efficient electrical systems." The committee includes community members, teachers, students, a Board member and district directors and will build upon energy-use data collected over the past several years and successful installation of energy-efficient equipment installed in the newly-constructed Raven Stream and Eagle View Elementary Schools and the current High School expansion. Committee actions will include analysis of district energy use, policies and procedures for Board approval, an education plan for staff and students on efficient uses of energy, and replacement of older inefficient energy equipment. The Energy Committee has aimed its planned recommendations at an August 15, 2007 deadline. |
