New Prague senior named as Intel Science Talent Search semifinalist

New Prague High School is proud to announce that Carl Turner, a senior, was named 1 of the 300 Semifinalists in the 2007 Intel Science Talent Search. There were 1,705 entrants. Carl is 1 of 4 students from Minnesota. Carl will receive $1,000 from Intel. In addition, Intel will provide New Prague High School $1,000 to be designated to support science and math. From among the 300 Semifinalists named nationally, Carl has a chance to become of the 40 Finalists, which will be announced on January 31, 2007. On March 8 these Finalists will travel to Washington for a weeklong event, where 10 students will be chosen for scholarships totaling $500,000. |
