Girls face Marshall in State quarterfinals

The New Prague varsity girls basketball team (21-6) will open play in the class "AAA" State Tournament on Wednesday, March 15 against Marshall (27-2). The game is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Sports Pavilion on the U of M campus. The Trojans earned its bid with a 44-41 win over Northfield in the Section 1AAA title game last week. The win was the ninth in a row for the team and 16th in 17 games. New Prague will face a Marshall team which is just as hot entering the state tournament. The Tigers have won 26 of 27 games and are coming off a Section 2AAA title where they won four games by an average of more than 31 points. With a win Wednesday, the Trojans will play at 2 p.m. at the Target Center Thursday afternoon against the winner of the St. Michael-Albertville/Hermantown game. The Championship game is set for 6:00 p.m. Saturday night at the Target Center. TICKETS AVAILABLE AT HIGH SCHOOL Tickets for the New Prague game are available at the Activities Office at the High School until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for students |
