Trecker leads Trojans past Austin
Junior forward Whitney Trecker scored a team-high 27 points to help lead the New Prague varsity girls basketball team (19-6) to a 63-50 win over Austin Thursday night in the Section 1AAA quarterfinals in New Prague. The win over the seventh-seeded Packers moves the Trojans into the semifinals where they will face No.3-seeded Albert Lea, 68-59 winners over Winona. The game will be played on Saturday, March 4 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Rochester Civic Center. The other semifinal features a pair of upset winners as No.8-seeded Lakeville South from the Lake Conference, upended top-seeded Waseca 72-59. Also, No.5-seeded Northfield beat No.4 Red Wing 42-35. The title game is set for Friday, March 10 at 8:15 in Rochester.
