Winners announced for Friendship Week
Friendship Week at the High School recently concluded with a few students coming away with prizes. Friendship Week was sponsored by the school's Teens Listening and Caring Peer Helpers group, which promoted doing good deeds for others throughout the course of an entire school week. The five days were categorized with a different theme, including "Hug Day", "Kindness Day" and "Respect Day", to name a few. During Kindness Day, students were each given five stickers at the start of the day to be distributed to other students who did a good deed for them or someone else. The student with the most stickers by the end of the day was declared the winner. Picture above are the first and second place finishers in that contest. From left: senior Megan Bastyr, senior Kevin Novak, sophomore Mark Kramer and senior Derek Muelken. Novak was declared the winner with 265 stickers, while Kramer finished with roughly 200. Bastyr and Muelken are each members of TLC. Senior Dustin Simon, not pictured, also won a prize at the end of the week.
