Preschool Program Earns Parent Aware's Highest Rating
New Prague Area School's preschool program has recently been awarded four stars, the highest rating possible from Parent Aware, a rating tool sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Human Services in coordination with the Minnesota Office of Early Learning. Parent Aware's rating system helps parents find programs that go above and beyond to prepare children for school and life. Four Star rated programs must use an approved curriculum and staff must receive at least sixteen hours of special training.

To earn a Four Star rating, New Prague Area School's preschool program is excelling in the use of best practices in preparing kids for kindergarten. The criteria include:

• Exemplifying a truly engaged school readiness partner for parents.
• Conducting ongoing assessments of a child's progress.
• Continually adapting lesson plans and goals to meet individual needs.
• Regularly updating parents on their child's progress.
• Being trained in the area of developmental disabilities in children.
• Communicating across cultures and documenting on-going childhood-related education.

Preschool programs earning a Four Star rating show that they are equipped to offer the very best in quality care, assuring parents that their children will be well prepared for school.
