Hockey team loses twice at State
The New Prague varsity girls hockey team dropped a pair of games last weekend in the class "A" state tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Section 1A champs lost to Warroad 5-2 in Friday's semifinals. The Trojans trailed 3-0 midway through the second period before goals from Jenna Kilpatrick and Courtney Sivula made it 3-2 early in the final period. The Warriors put the game away with a pair of goals later in the period. The loss dropped the team into the 3rd place game Saturday morning and things looked good early on. Kacy Ambroz, Kilpatrick and Sivula all scored in the game's first 10 minutes to give the Trojans a 3-1 lead. It was 3-2 early in the third when Sivula scored again to make it 4-2. Alexandria, however, took control from there, scoring the final three goals of the game to make the final 5-4.
