Update on Bomb Threat at high school on February 14, 2013
In an attempt to notify parents of the bomb threat that occurred at the high school on Thursday February 14th, the district discovered that several things happened to prevent the messages from reaching our intended goals. Having only used the system once before, the district soon realized that there were many parents who did not receive the intended messages. Parents need to be aware that the district website will always have up to date information as to what is occurring in our district.

As with any new system, there will be technical difficulties that occur. This appeared to be the case Thursday morning. What the district had hoped to be a fast and efficient means of informing parents turned into a long wait and finally a cancelllation of messages that were still in limbo. We apologize for these problems and are currentlly working with our software vendor to correct these issues.

In order for the message system to work correctly and efficiently, we are asking all parents to review their contact information through their portals the Infinite Campus Portal at https://sis.np.k12.mn.us/campus/portal/newprague.jsp If you have never created an account in the portal, you can contact the clerical staff at any of the buildings where your child/ren attend. We will be using this same contact method to inform parents of school closings, late starts or early release due to weather or other emergency situations. We appreciate your taking the time to review your personal information and hope to have an efficient, well functioning system that we can use for parent notification.

In the near future you may receive a test notification from the district as we work on fine tuning the notification system.
