New Prague Area School District's start time was delayed two hours on Thursday, February 27 due to unplowed roads caused by severe snow drifting in several of our rural townships. Because of these road conditions early this morning, it did not allow us to safely operate buses in these areas.

These road conditions probably affected only 10% of our traveled roads. Keep in mind that New Prague's school transportation covers 160 square miles with 34 buses. That is a lot of roads and miles.

One question we may consider discussing in the future is, "If there are varied road conditions such as today within our school district area, should we have bus pick-ups on plowed roads only?" I would like to hear your input to this question, especially from parents that live in these rural townships.

Thank you for your understanding and support with this situation.
