Amy Johnson
Amy
is the Special Education Supervisor for New Prague Area Schools.
She holds an Educational Specialist degree from Mankato State University,
as well as a PreK-12 Principal's license and Special Education
Director license. She earned her Masters in Education
and Autism Spectrum Disorder teaching license from Hamline University
in 2007, and an Early Childhood Special Education teaching license
from UW-Eau Claire University in 2002. She started in New
Prague school district in 2006 in early childhood special education.
Amy then started working as the district Autism Resource Specialist
for New Prague in the Fall of 2008. Amy continues to offer
district and out of district trainings in autism spectrum disorders,
early intervention, proactive behavior strategies, and Response
to Intervention (RTI) for preschool. She is excited and
honored to be working as part of the leadership team in Special
Education for the New Prague school district.
Amy
lives in Lakeville with her husband, Luke, and son, Liam.
Her family enjoys watching the Minnesota Twins and spending
time in the outdoors.

Kari Woyda
Kari
grew up in Wells, a small rural town in southern Minnesota. She
attended Minnesota State University, Mankato earning both a bachelor's
degree and master's degree in Communication Disorders. In addition,
Kari earned her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing
Association. She then began her education career in the New Prague
Area Schools working as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Kari is pursuing
her K-12 Principal License and Special Education Director License
through St. Cloud State University.
Currently,
Kari serves a dual role for the New Prague Area Schools. She works
as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Raven Stream Elementary and
serves as the Special Education Coordinator for Raven Stream Elementary
and St. Wenceslaus School.
Kari
and her husband, Paul, live in New Prague. They have three children,
Tyler, Alex, and Kalli. |

Michelle Cuka
Michelle
has had a heart for people with unique needs since she was a teenager,
volunteering in special education programs in high school, volunteering
with the Special Olympics, and spending many summers working with
children and adults with disabilities at Camp Friendship in Annandale,
MN. She has also overseen residential homes for adults with disabilities
in the twin cities while employed with REM Minnesota. Michelle began
her employment at New Prague Area Schools in 2008, serving as a
Special Education Resource Teacher at the High School.
Michelle
holds her Education Specialist Degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato
along with a Special Education Director License. Michelle earned
her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Augsburg College
and her Master's Degree in Reading from Minnesota State University-Mankato.
In
addition to providing special education coordination at the High
School, Falcon Ridge Elementary, Eagle View Elementary and Holy
Cross, Michelle also serves as Career Coordinator at the High School.
Michelle
lives in Prior Lake with her husband and two children.

Darrin Sawchuk
Darrin's primary assignments
this year will be covering the Middle and High School as a Speech/Language
Pathologist and as a Special Education Coordinator at the Middle
School.
Darrin lives in Burnsville with his
wife Lynn and two children Nolan and Avery. He enjoys coaching his
children's hockey teams in the Winter and soccer in the Spring and
Fall. Darrin and his family are also members at the New Prague Golf
Course.
