Okay, that's enough jokes for one article. You can't worry about what you can't control, but I feel the need to clarify to our students, parents, staff, and community of our plans for making up school closing dates. A decision for designating make-up days was made at an emergency school board meeting on January 31. Per my recommendation, the school board approved February 17 as a make-up date for students and staff. The school board also approved March 7 as a possible second make-up day. Because of the decision to close schools on February 17 due to inclement weather, we will now have school on March 7. It will be a full day for elementary students, and a half day for secondary students. If there are any future school closings due to weather, the school board will have the discretion to add days to the school calendar. I hope this answers any questions you may have regarding our school district's make-up days. Let's hope the weather gets better. Just remember – we are less than 30 days from spring! |
