Board to Interview Candidates at Special School Board Meetings

The New Prague Area School Board will interview six applicants for the school board vacancy following the resignation of Dan Carlson on July 1.

On Monday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 3, the school board will hold a special meeting begining at 5:00 PM. Three candidates will be interviewed each evening. Special meetings are open to the public.

Following the interviews at the August 3rd meeting, the chairperson of the board, Jerry Walerius will call for nominations. Following nominations, Dennis Havlicek, Clerk of the school board will take a roll call vote. The applicant that receives the majority of board member votes will be named to appointment on the school board.

The newly appointed board member will accept the appointment and take the oath of office. The new member will serve until December 31, 2011 which is the remainder of Carlson's term.
